Cruise Lines Will Not Accomodate Food Allergies That Require Organic Foods

I’m always hearing from people about how cruise lines are very good about accommodating food allergies. What about food allergies which require consumption of organic foods, such as those people who cannot have the compounds in preservatives and pesticides? Well, turns out the cruise lines will not accommodate these people. I contacted Carnival, Royal Carribean (RCCL), Disney Cruise lines, and a couple others and got the same answer, “we cannot accommodate organic foods.”

So, not only are they irresponsible in terms of caring for those with particular food allergies, but in addition these cruise lines are clearly very much not on board with the organic movement.

They’ve lost my business, have they lost yours?

Hello February! The shortest month with the most deadlines. Yay?

So this morning a sand truck lost control on the 101, went thru the median, came back, jack-knifed, and landed on a minivan. Needless to say it is still there, causing MAJOR traffic. I hate traffic. I want to work walking distance from where I live. Traffic has to be one of the most frustrating things city dwellers have to deal with.

Love the city, hate the traffic. Anyone have a helicopter they want to loan me?

The city of Los Angeles, LA for short. I don’t know how the trend of calling LA “lala land” originated, but I hate it. This isn’t lala land, call it LA.

Opening ceremonies – WHAT was that?

I am super excited that the Olympics have started, but I have to say I was disappointed by the opening ceremonies.

Did you catch tonight’s Olympics Opening Ceremonies? I was bored out of my mind. Sure there were some high points like projected Orcas swimming across the stage and the mind boggling hair of that opera singer… but the rest? come on.

I wanted excitement and impossible daring feats. I got a poet from youtube and a boy twirling in the air performing “can you see the wind.” Is this the impression you wanted the world to have, Canada? Is this what you wanted me to take away from the opening ceremonies? Boredom?

Should have used the Disney Epcot Pavillion sound track (Oh Canada, you’re a lifetime journey for the traveler) or the whole attraction would have been fine also.

I wonder if there is a transcript of the speech the CEO gave, which was a series of lists combined to form a speech.

Regardless, the torch is lit and the games have commenced! Can’t wait to watch the events!!

I flew US Airways recently and… it was pretty lame. The plane was new, which was nice, but had 0 entertainment options. 5+ hours of nothingness. No TV, No cheesy air radio, No movies… nothing. Also, NO peanuts or pretzels.

I also flew delta recently. They had satellite TV, a wide range of movies and TV shows, radio, games, AND pretzels / cookies. Sure their plane was a little older, but at least I was entertained the whole time.

Oh, and the first US Airways plane I got on had a crack in the cargo area so we needed to take another plane… on-time flight Fail.

Idiot on the 101N

This morning, on the 101 north, I was about 8 cars behind (and two lanes over from) an idiot on the freeway. He was driving a dark green modified pickup with what looked like plywood in the back… Going uphill a piece of wood the size of a double bed got kicked up from his truck bed and was sticking straight up. It hadn’t fallen out (yet) but it was sticking straight up, only about 25% of it still in the truck bed, pieces of other wood flying out behind him onto the other cars. Instead of pulling over at this point, to remedy his soon to be road hazard, the idiot speeds up and pulls from lane 4 into lane 3! Further from the shoulder! While I try to decide if I want to hang back or try to pass him quickly before the plywood comes flying out of his truck… it comes loose, hits a few cars, hits the divider, and luckily misses me since I had slowed down during my moment of indecision.

What an idiot. He should have just pulled over and taken care of that as soon as everything came loose earlier.
