Cruise Lines Will Not Accomodate Food Allergies That Require Organic Foods

I’m always hearing from people about how cruise lines are very good about accommodating food allergies.  What about food allergies which require consumption of organic foods, such as those people who cannot have the compounds in preservatives and pesticides?  Well, turns out the cruise lines will not accommodate these people.  I contacted Carnival, Royal Carribean (RCCL), Disney Cruise lines, and a couple others and got the same answer, “we cannot accommodate organic foods.”

So, not only are they irresponsible in terms of caring for those with particular food allergies, but in addition these cruise lines are clearly very much not on board with the organic movement.

They’ve lost my business, have they lost yours?

Death by caffeine

How many cups of that Starbucks drink would it take to kill you?

Find out here.

I’m happy to report that I don’t think I can drink enough coca cola to kill me because of the caffeine. Phew.

21 Choices – not as wholesome as they say

21 Choices - Their Story - Not so organic

In an effort to maintain a healthier lifestyle, I’ve been looking for a frozen yogurt shop that serves frozen yogurt that is organic or free of additives and corn products (like corn syrup). I checked out the 21 Choices website and their “Our Story” section proudly states that “There are no syrups, powders, or favorings – just wholesome and organic ingrdients and cultured ingredients that are guaranteed to make you smile.” Sounds promising, right?!?!?

Wrong. Totally wrong.

I called to ask about the ingredients. Turns out ALL of their yogurts contain corn syrup. So much for that whle no syrups things. Also they contain sodium phosphate and sodium citrate.
When I asked how this plays into their whole organic and no syrups thing on the website, I was told “Oh, we don’t add the corn syrup, it already comes in our yogurt.” As if that means that they can claim that their frozen yogurt is organic and wholesome. Maybe they should look into switching to a yogurt provider like Straus Family Creamery instead of just serving crap and calling it organic… because they didn’t add the crap themselves. Great logic.

Almost Free IN-n-Out October 22 is a HOAX!

Yesterday I posted about the almost free In-n-Out anniversary prices on October 22 … today after a little research I found out its all just a rumor / hoax.  As per their website:

“You may be aware of a rumor about our menu prices being lowered for our anniversary on October 22nd. This rumor is untrue.”

Sorry for the buzzkill 🙁

Today I had the opportunity to taste the Best Fudge Ever. That sounds like a baseless blanket statement, but I assure you it is not. I have a slight chocolate/fudge eating problem, so whenever it is available to me I have some. Today I had the best.

Once a week, in one of my courses, an entrepreneur comes and speaks to my class about their business. Today, Momma Reiner of Momma Reiner’s Fudge spoke to us about how she went from making fudge at home for her family to running a successful business selling her awesome fudge. Specifically I had the fudge-dipped marshmallows.

Order yourself a box, you owe it to yourself.
