What women say…and what they mean

Haven’t posted anything funny in a while, figured its time.

9 Words Women Use – and what they really mean.

1.) Fine: This is the word women use to end an argument when they are right and you need to shut up.

2.) Five Minutes : If she is getting dressed, this means a half an hour.
Five minutes is only five minutes if you have just been given five more minutes to watch the game before helping around the house.

3.) Nothing: This is the calm before the storm. This means something, and you should be on your toes. Arguments that begin with nothing usually end in fine.

4.) Go Ahead: This is a dare, not permission. Don’t Do It!

5.) Loud Sigh: This is actually a word, but is a non-verbal statement often misunderstood by men. A loud sigh means she thinks you are an idiot and wonders why she is wasting her time standing here and arguing with you about nothing. (Refer back to #3 for the meaning of nothing.)
6.) That’s Okay: This is one of the most dangerous statements a women can say to a man. That’s okay means she wants to think long and hard before deciding how and when you will pay for your mistake.

7.) Thanks: A woman is thanking you, do not question, or Faint. Just say you’re welcome.

8.) Whatever : Is a women’s way of saying SCREW YOU!

9.) Don’t worry about it, I got it: Another dangerous statement, meaning this is something that a woman has told a man to do several times, but is now doing it herself. This will later result in a man asking “What’s wrong?” For the woman’s response refer to #3.

You should probably link this to the men you know, so they too will understand what we are trying to say.

Finally Tivo… but there is nothing to watch

So I finally got a TiVo, and I’m really excited about it, except wait… oh yeah, there is NOTHING TO WATCH.  Thanks to the writers’ strike none of my favorite shows are on anymore.  I don’t even know what to set tivo to record.  Any idea? I’m looking for some TV inspiration here.

PS – Tivo is TOTALLY today’s timewaster.

Time for a new look?

Though i don’t have the time now, at all, to do this… I think it would be fun to give the blog a new look.  Clean it up a bit.  Add a section on the side for most popular posts, things like that.  I use WordPress  and that would not be changing.  I am very happy with wordpress.  I should, however, upgrade the version of wordpress I am running and take advantage of the new features available on the new versions.

As for the new look, the dilemma is do i create my own new look? Do I get a blog designer?  Do i just use a preset template?

The best would likely be to edit a preset template to my liking.  Man I’m tired.  Time to go veg out and watch some tv.  I’m still shocked that Heath Ledger passed away today.

Time Waster Tuesday! – can you spot the fake smile.

Even though I have no time to waste these days, I realized that the rest of you might…

Was surfing the net the other night, while I should have been writing or reading (you know something productive), and a friend of mine linked me to this test, “Can you spot the fake smile.”  It was interesting, I took it.  I failed miserably.  13/20 correct.

It gets better!  There are other tests!  Here is the link to the main page with all the test.   Go learn about your personality, how you sense things, test your memory training, and figure out what style of work suits your personality.  Hours of fun I tell you.  This is almost as good as the time I discovered EMode, in like 1999.

Let me know how you guys do, especially on the how to spot a fake smile test.

At least I don’t have to wear contacts anymore

It has been very windy in socal yesterday and today.  I remember a few years ago when I used to wear glasses and contacts I hated everytime it rained or got windy.  Rain meant my glasses would get wet, which was a drag if I actually wanted to see where I was going, and wind meant i would get dust and debris on my contacts and they would dry out so it would be an all together uncomfortable experience.

Lucky for me I don’t wear those anymore, I had my eyes corrected a while back.  I originally went in to get Lasik eye surgery, but that didn’t quite work out.   My corneas were deemed too thin, so I had to settle for an older procedure called PRK.  Now my eyes aren’t a perfect 20/20 but at least its manageable and I don’t need to wear my glasses or contacts!

Hopefully, regardless of my eyewear, the weather will clear up and we can have warmish, calm, sunny days here in the southland.

Back to the Grind

I’m back to the grind here.  It seems the rain has finally subsided so I can stop carrying an umbrella around (woohoo).  I really am not a fan of rain.  I used to be even less of a fan when I wore glasses….water on my glasses? NO GOOD!

Started my new job and classes again yesterday.  Job seems like it could be pretty cool, I’m actually excited about it.  I think I’m going to be working on a lot of projects that I will really enjoy and can learn a lot from.  Unfortunately with my student loans still building, even with a job I don’t think I could ever afford to even buy Used Cars let alone my dream car, the BMW Z4 coupe M series.  I just keep telling myself that all this hard work will pay off one day, and for now no need to buy another car…
On the bright side, at least I’m not Britney Spears.  Who knew 4 years ago that things would go so bad for her now?

This wetness, what is this? Rain you say?

Just got back to LA, finally, and its POURING.  I’m sure this will be interesting after all of our wildfires.  Here is a link to a guide on how to properly sandbag areas for those of you who are in need.

Stay Dry!
