I have been complaining for a while now (fly faster, please) about how consumer travel has not improved in something like 30 years. We are flying the same planes at the same speeds with no major improvements (some safety improvements yes, but we’re not getting places any faster). We don’t even fly the concord anymore which was an improvement for those making the trans-atlantic journey. With all the advances in electronics, computers, and the internet I feel like real life traveling has stalled, but I am thirlled to say that I read an article recently about Lockheed Martin currently designing a new small passenger jet (12 passenger) that would travel 1,200 mph (mach 1.8). I know this aircraft would be an exclusive commodity and out of reach for the general public, but this is a great step in the right direction. Hopefully the popularity of this aircraft will prompt more and larger planes that travel at these speeds (making it more accessible to the average Joes like you and I).
Thank you, for actually making an effort to improve travel. Maybe by the time I’m an OLD lady, it won’t take me 12 hours to get to London. I like to travel, I like to fly…Lets make this happen.
The Article.
